General Surgery
Dr. Porras Rodriguez was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. After completing medical school in Bogota, she moved to California for surgical residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She recently got married in the beautiful city of Cartagena, Colombia. Dr. Porras-Rodriguez's fascination with medicine started as a desire to understand how bodies work. She immediately wanted to learn everything about it. Then, as she realized how much she could impact someone’s life and help them through medicine, she knew that she wanted to become a doctor. Her love for surgery started very early in medical school as she enjoyed providing immediate solutions to problems and disease processes that her patients presented with. Moreover, her training at a busy, level I trauma center in Los Angeles County shaped Dr. Porras Rodriguez's desire to provide the highest level of care to all those in need. Now Dr. Porras Rodriguez is very excited to meet the Richlands community. Her practice includes laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder, stomach, and colon surgery, as well as minor procedures for the removal of skin lesions.
