Aside from the years I spent in college and medical school, I have always lived in Richlands. I’ve been blessed with a family who has been very active in the community. My grandfather was a family physician for approximately 50 years in town and my dad owned his own medical equipment company. The exposure I’ve had, through both my father’s business and my grandfather’s medical practice, has highlighted how medical care can significantly improve one’s quality of life. It’s very hard to go anywhere in southwest Virginia without hearing stories of how my Grandfather has helped someone. As a child, my Grandfather was always working and this initially pushed me away from medicine. His passion for healing others and the joy that came with it was his motivation for working so hard. This is what initially led me to medicine. I later fell in love with the science of the human body and utilizing it to make a difference in the lives of others. Simply put, my Grandpa was and will always be my hero. The way he truly cared for others and put their health and happiness first will always inspire me. My goal since graduating high school in 2009 has been to return to Richlands and follow in my grandpa’s footsteps. It is the honor of a lifetime.
I live in Richlands with my wife Nikki and 5 yo daughter Kennedy. My wife is an attorney in town and we look forward to being active in the community. Our greatest joy is spending time with family.
